TOPIC: “CONTRACTUAL AWARENESS” Consider this; there has been lots of letters
and some initial work has started, but, has a contract been formed and if so,
on what basis and if not, where and what are the rights and entitlements?
This presentation is centred on the essential components for the formation of
a contract and considers the wider issues that we meet in the construction
industry every day by giving real, practical, examples of the problems and
ways to manage-out those problems: 1. Invitation to tender 2. The quotation 3.
Contract essentials 4.
Post tender negotiations 5.
Letters of Intent / Acceptance 6.
Contract orders 7.
Express / implied terms 8.
Formalities 9.
Third parties 10.
Ending the contract |
TOPIC: “PRACTICAL
RECORDS ON SITE” This presentation poses ways to encourage team working and cost savings, starting with the construction of the tender documents. Every day practices and typical submittal forms are discussed with thoughts on the typical conflict that results taking into consideration the positions of the Employer, the Engineer, the Contractor, Sub-contractors and suppliers. Potential solutions are offered by giving real, practical, examples of the problems and ways to manage-out those problems whether design or construction work has started, or not. 1.
Getting it right! 2.
